Psalm 52
CSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
1Why boast about evil, you hero! God's faithful love is constant.1Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The steadfast love of God endures all the day.
2Like a sharpened razor, your tongue devises destruction, working treachery.2Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit.
3You love evil instead of good, lying instead of speaking truthfully. Selah3You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking what is right. Selah
4You love any words that destroy, you treacherous tongue!4You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.
5This is why God will bring you down forever. He will take you, ripping you out of your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah5But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
6The righteous will see and fear, and they will derisively say about that hero,6The righteous shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying,
7"Here is the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, taking refuge in his destructive behavior."7“See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and sought refuge in his own destruction!”
8But I am like a flourishing olive tree in the house of God; I trust in God's faithful love forever and ever.8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.
9I will praise you forever for what you have done. In the presence of your faithful people, I will put my hope in your name, for it is good.9I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.
