Psalm 52
CSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Christian Standard BibleNew Living Translation
1Why boast about evil, you hero! God's faithful love is constant.1Why do you boast about your crimes, great warrior? Don’t you realize God’s justice continues forever?
2Like a sharpened razor, your tongue devises destruction, working treachery.2All day long you plot destruction. Your tongue cuts like a sharp razor; you’re an expert at telling lies.
3You love evil instead of good, lying instead of speaking truthfully. Selah3You love evil more than good and lies more than truth. Interlude
4You love any words that destroy, you treacherous tongue!4You love to destroy others with your words, you liar!
5This is why God will bring you down forever. He will take you, ripping you out of your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah5But God will strike you down once and for all. He will pull you from your home and uproot you from the land of the living. Interlude
6The righteous will see and fear, and they will derisively say about that hero,6The righteous will see it and be amazed. They will laugh and say,
7"Here is the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, taking refuge in his destructive behavior."7“Look what happens to mighty warriors who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead and grow more and more bold in their wickedness.”
8But I am like a flourishing olive tree in the house of God; I trust in God's faithful love forever and ever.8But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.
9I will praise you forever for what you have done. In the presence of your faithful people, I will put my hope in your name, for it is good.9I will praise you forever, O God, for what you have done. I will trust in your good name in the presence of your faithful people.
