Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God's will: To the faithful saints in Christ Jesus at Ephesus.1From: Paul, an apostle of the Messiah Jesus by God's will. To: His holy and faithful people in Ephesus who are in union with the Messiah Jesus.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.2May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be yours!
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah! He has blessed us in the Messiah with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm,
For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him.4just as he chose us in the Messiah before the creation of the universe to be holy and blameless in his presence. In love
He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,5he predestined us for adoption to himself through Jesus the Messiah, according to the pleasure of his will,
to the praise of his glorious grace that he lavished on us in the Beloved One.6so that we would praise his glorious grace that he gave us in the Beloved One.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace7In union with him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of God's grace
that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding.8that he lavished on us, along with all wisdom and understanding,
He made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he purposed in Christ9when he made known to us the secret of his will. This was according to his plan that he set forth in the Messiah
as a plan for the right time--to bring everything together in Christ, both things in heaven and things on earth in him.10to usher in the fullness of the times and to bring together in the Messiah all things in heaven and on earth.
In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will,11In the Messiah we were also chosen when we were predestined according to the purpose of the one who does everything that he wills to do,
so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory.12so that we who had already fixed our hope on the Messiah might live for his praise and glory.
In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spiritwhen you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.13You, too, have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in the Messiah, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.14who is the guarantee of our inheritance until God redeems his own possession for his praise and glory.
This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,15Therefore, because I have heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers.16I never stop giving thanks for you as I mention you in my prayers.
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.17I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the most glorious Father, would give you a wise spirit, along with revelation that comes through knowing the Messiah fully.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,18Then, with the eyes of your hearts enlightened, you will know the confidence that is produced by God having called you, the rich glory that is his inheritance among the saints,
and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty working of his strength.19and the unlimited greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his mighty strength,
He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens--20which he brought about in the Messiah when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realm.
far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come.21He is far above every ruler, authority, power, dominion, and every name that can be named, not only in the present age, but also in the one to come.
And he subjected everything under his feet and appointed him as head over everything for the church,22God has put everything under the Messiah's feet and has made him the head of everything for the good of the church,
which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.23which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills everything in every way.
