| 1Be gracious to me, God, for a man is trampling me; he fights and oppresses me all day long. | 1For the choir director; according to Jonath elem rehokim. | 2My adversaries trample me all day, for many arrogantly fight against me. | 2My foes have trampled upon me all day long, For they are many who fight proudly against me. |
| 3When I am afraid, I will trust in you. | 3When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. |
| 4In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? | 4In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me? |
| 5They twist my words all day long; all their thoughts against me are evil. | 5All day long they distort my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil. |
