Psalm 32
CSB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Christian Standard BibleNET Bible
1How joyful is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!1By David; a well-written song. How blessed is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, whose sin is pardoned!
2How joyful is a person whom the LORD does not charge with iniquity and in whose spirit is no deceit!2How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the LORD does not punish, in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3When I kept silent, my bones became brittle from my groaning all day long.3When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long.
4For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was drained as in the summer's heat. Selah4For day and night you tormented me; you tried to destroy me in the intense heat of summer. (Selah)
5Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not conceal my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah5Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, "I will confess my rebellious acts to the LORD." And then you forgave my sins. (Selah)
6Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to you immediately. When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him.6For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them.
7You are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance. Selah7You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance. (Selah)
8I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with my eye on you, I will give counsel.8I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye.
9Do not be like a horse or mule, without understanding, that must be controlled with bit and bridle or else it will not come near you.9Do not be like an unintelligent horse or mule, which will not obey you unless they are controlled by a bridle and bit.
10Many pains come to the wicked, but the one who trusts in the LORD will have faithful love surrounding him.10An evil person suffers much pain, but the LORD's faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him.
11Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones; shout for joy, all you upright in heart.11Rejoice in the LORD and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright!
