English Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
And he said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.”1“Son of man,” He said to me, “stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.”
And as he spoke to me, the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.2And as He spoke to me, the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and I heard Him speaking to me.
And he said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the people of Israel, to nations of rebels, who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me to this very day.3“Son of man,” He said to me, “I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me. To this very day they and their fathers have rebelled against Me.
The descendants also are impudent and stubborn: I send you to them, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’4They are obstinate and stubborn children. I am sending you to them, and you are to say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says.’
And whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house) they will know that a prophet has been among them.5And whether they listen or refuse to listen—for they are a rebellious house—they will know that a prophet has been among them.
And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions. Be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.6But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns surround you, and you dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their presence, though they are a rebellious house.
And you shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house.7But speak My words to them, whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious.
“But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Be not rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”8And you, son of man, listen to what I tell you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I give you.”
And when I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.9Then I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me, and in it was a scroll,
And he spread it before me. And it had writing on the front and on the back, and there were written on it words of lamentation and mourning and woe.10which He unrolled before me. And written on the front and back of it were words of lamentation, mourning, and woe.
