ESV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionChristian Standard Bible
And he said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.”1He said to me, "Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak with you."
And as he spoke to me, the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.2As he spoke to me, the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and I listened to the one who was speaking to me.
And he said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the people of Israel, to nations of rebels, who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me to this very day.3He said to me, "Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to the rebellious pagans who have rebelled against me. The Israelites and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this day.
The descendants also are impudent and stubborn: I send you to them, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’4The descendants are obstinate and hardhearted. I am sending you to them, and you must say to them, 'This is what the Lord GOD says.'
And whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house) they will know that a prophet has been among them.5Whether they listen or refuse to listen--for they are a rebellious house--they will know that a prophet has been among them.
And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions. Be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.6"But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them and do not be afraid of their words, even though briers and thorns are beside you and you live among scorpions. Don't be afraid of their words or discouraged by the look on their faces, for they are a rebellious house.
And you shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house.7Speak my words to them whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious.
“But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Be not rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”8"And you, son of man, listen to what I tell you: Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you."
And when I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.9So I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me, and there was a written scroll in it.
And he spread it before me. And it had writing on the front and on the back, and there were written on it words of lamentation and mourning and woe.10When he unrolled it before me, it was written on the front and back; words of lamentation, mourning, and woe were written on it.
