ESV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.1For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.2He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.
How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?3How long will you assail a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah4They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth, But inwardly they curse. Selah.
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.5My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.6He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.7On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah8Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.9Men of low degree are only vanity and men of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up; They are together lighter than breath.
Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.10Do not trust in oppression And do not vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.
Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,11Once God has spoken; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God;
and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.12And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, For You recompense a man according to his work.
