Psalm 7
ESV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNET Bible
O LORD my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,1A musical composition by David, which he sang to the LORD concerning a Benjaminite named Cush. O LORD my God, in you I have taken shelter. Deliver me from all who chase me! Rescue me!
lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.2Otherwise they will rip me to shreds like a lion; they will tear me to bits and no one will be able to rescue me.
O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands,3O LORD my God, if I have done what they say, or am guilty of unjust actions,
if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,4or have wronged my ally, or helped his lawless enemy,
let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, and let him trample my life to the ground and lay my glory in the dust. Selah5may an enemy relentlessly chase me and catch me; may he trample me to death and leave me lying dishonored in the dust. (Selah)
Arise, O LORD, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment.6Stand up angrily, LORD! Rise up with raging fury against my enemies! Wake up for my sake and execute the judgment you have decreed for them!
Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about you; over it return on high.7The countries are assembled all around you; take once more your rightful place over them!
The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.8The LORD judges the nations. Vindicate me, LORD, because I am innocent, because I am blameless, O Exalted One!
Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous— you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God!9May the evil deeds of the wicked come to an end! But make the innocent secure, O righteous God, you who examine inner thoughts and motives!
My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.10The Exalted God is my shield, the one who delivers the morally upright.
God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.11God is a just judge; he is angry throughout the day.
If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and readied his bow;12If a person does not repent, God sharpens his sword and prepares to shoot his bow.
he has prepared for him his deadly weapons, making his arrows fiery shafts.13He prepares to use deadly weapons against him; he gets ready to shoot flaming arrows.
Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies.14See the one who is pregnant with wickedness, who conceives destructive plans, and gives birth to harmful lies--
He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole that he has made.15he digs a pit and then falls into the hole he has made.
His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own skull his violence descends.16He becomes the victim of his own destructive plans and the violence he intended for others falls on his own head.
I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.17I will thank the LORD for his justice; I will sing praises to the sovereign LORD!
