Holman Christian Standard BibleBerean Study Bible
Concerning David, when he pretended to be insane in the presence of Abimelech, who drove him out, and he departed. I will praise the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. 1Of David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, so that the king drove him away. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.
I will boast in the LORD; the humble will hear and be glad. 2My soul boasts in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice.
Proclaim Yahweh's greatness with me; let us exalt His name together. 3Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt His name together.
I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. 4I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces will never be ashamed. 5Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him from all his troubles. 6This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him; He saved him from all his troubles.
The Angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. 7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the LORD is good. How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him! 8Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
You who are His holy ones, fear Yahweh, for those who fear Him lack nothing. 9Fear the LORD, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.
Young lions lack food and go hungry, but those who seek the LORD will not lack any good thing. 10Young lions go lacking and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 11Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Who is the man who delights in life, loving a long life to enjoy what is good? 12Who is the man who delights in life, who desires to see good days?
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech. 13Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech.
Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it. 14Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry for help. 15The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their cry.
The face of the LORD is set against those who do what is evil, to erase all memory of them from the earth. 16But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to wipe out all memory of them from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them from all their troubles. 17The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles.
The LORD is near the brokenhearted; He saves those crushed in spirit. 18The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.
Many adversities come to the one who is righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all. 19Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.
He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken. 20He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.
Evil brings death to the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. 21Evil will slay the wicked, and the haters of the righteous will be condemned.
The LORD redeems the life of His servants, and all who take refuge in Him will not be punished. 22The LORD redeems His servants, and none who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
