Psalm 3
HCSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
1A psalm of David when he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how my foes increase! There are many who attack me. 1O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;
2Many say about me," There is no help for him in God." Selah 2many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah
3But You, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head. 3But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4I cry aloud to the LORD, and He answers me from His holy mountain. Selah 4I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah
5I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the LORD sustains me. 5I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.
6I am not afraid of the thousands of people who have taken their stand against me on every side. 6I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.
7Rise up, LORD! Save me, my God! You strike all my enemies on the cheek; You break the teeth of the wicked. 7Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked.
8Salvation belongs to the LORD; may Your blessing be on Your people. Selah 8Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah
