Psalm 3
HCSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew Living Translation
1A psalm of David when he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how my foes increase! There are many who attack me. 1O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me.
2Many say about me," There is no help for him in God." Selah 2So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” Interlude
3But You, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head. 3But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
4I cry aloud to the LORD, and He answers me from His holy mountain. Selah 4I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude
5I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the LORD sustains me. 5I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.
6I am not afraid of the thousands of people who have taken their stand against me on every side. 6I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.
7Rise up, LORD! Save me, my God! You strike all my enemies on the cheek; You break the teeth of the wicked. 7Arise, O LORD! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked!
8Salvation belongs to the LORD; may Your blessing be on Your people. Selah 8Victory comes from you, O LORD. May you bless your people. Interlude
