| 1A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. It is good to praise Yahweh, to sing praise to Your name, Most High, | 1It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; |
| 2to declare Your faithful love in the morning and Your faithfulness at night, | 2to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, |
| 3with a ten-stringed harp and the music of a lyre. | 3to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. |
| 4For You have made me rejoice, LORD, by what You have done; I will shout for joy because of the works of Your hands. | 4For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. |
| 5How magnificent are Your works, LORD, how profound Your thoughts! | 5How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep! |
| 6A stupid person does not know, a fool does not understand this: | 6The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this: |
| 7though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be eternally destroyed. | 7that though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever; |
| 8But You, LORD, are exalted forever. | 8but you, O LORD, are on high forever. |
| 9For indeed, LORD, Your enemies-- indeed, Your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered. | 9For behold, your enemies, O LORD, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be scattered. |
| 10You have lifted up my horn like that of a wild ox; I have been anointed with oil. | 10But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; you have poured over me fresh oil. |
| 11My eyes look down on my enemies; my ears hear evildoers when they attack me. | 11My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants. |
| 12The righteous thrive like a palm tree and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon. | 12The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. |
| 13Planted in the house of the LORD, they thrive in the courts of our God. | 13They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God. |
| 14They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green, | 14They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, |
| 15to declare: "The LORD is just; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him." | 15to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. |
