Davidic. May the LORD, my rock, be praised, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for warfare. 1A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;
He is my faithful love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him; He subdues my people under me. 2My lovingkindness and my fortress, My stronghold and my deliverer, My shield and He in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me.
LORD, what is man, that You care for him, the son of man, that You think of him? 3O LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You think of him?
Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. 4Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow.
LORD, part Your heavens and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. 5Bow Your heavens, O LORD, and come down; Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
Flash Your lightning and scatter the foe; shoot Your arrows and rout them. 6Flash forth lightning and scatter them; Send out Your arrows and confuse them.
Reach down from heaven; rescue me from deep water, and set me free from the grasp of foreigners 7Stretch forth Your hand from on high; Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters, Out of the hand of aliens
whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. 8Whose mouths speak deceit, And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
God, I will sing a new song to You; I will play on a ten-stringed harp for You-- 9I will sing a new song to You, O God; Upon a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,
the One who gives victory to kings, who frees His servant David from the deadly sword. 10Who gives salvation to kings, Who rescues David His servant from the evil sword.
Set me free and rescue me from the grasp of foreigners whose mouths speak lies, whose right hands are deceptive. 11Rescue me and deliver me out of the hand of aliens, Whose mouth speaks deceit And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters, like corner pillars that are carved in the palace style. 12Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants, And our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace;
Our storehouses will be full, supplying all kinds of produce; our flocks will increase by thousands and tens of thousands in our open fields. 13Let our garners be full, furnishing every kind of produce, And our flocks bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;
Our cattle will be well fed. There will be no breach in the walls, no going into captivity, and no cry of lament in our public squares. 14Let our cattle bear Without mishap and without loss, Let there be no outcry in our streets!
Happy are the people with such blessings. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh. 15How blessed are the people who are so situated; How blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!
