Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before Me in this generation.1The LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, for I consider you godly among this generation.
You are to take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and its female, 2You must take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, the male and its mate, two of every kind of unclean animal, the male and its mate,
and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky--in order to keep offspring alive on the face of the whole earth. 3and also seven of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of the earth.
Seven days from now I will make it rain on the earth 40 days and 40 nights, and I will wipe off from the face of the earth every living thing I have made." 4For in seven days I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the ground every living thing that I have made."
And Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him. 5And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.
Noah was 600 years old when the flood came and water covered the earth. 6Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters engulfed the earth.
So Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives entered the ark because of the waters of the flood. 7Noah entered the ark along with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives because of the floodwaters.
From the clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and every creature that crawls on the ground, 8Pairs of clean animals, of unclean animals, of birds, and of everything that creeps along the ground,
two of each, male and female, entered the ark with Noah, just as God had commanded him. 9male and female, came into the ark to Noah, just as God had commanded him.
Seven days later the waters of the flood came on the earth. 10And after seven days the floodwaters engulfed the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the sources of the watery depths burst open, the floodgates of the sky were opened,11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month--on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
and the rain fell on the earth 40 days and 40 nights. 12And the rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
On that same day Noah along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, Noah's wife, and his three sons' wives entered the ark with him. 13On that very day Noah entered the ark, accompanied by his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, along with his wife and his sons' three wives.
They entered it with all the wildlife according to their kinds, all livestock according to their kinds, the creatures that crawl on the earth according to their kinds, all birds, every fowl, and everything with wings according to their kinds. 14They entered, along with every living creature after its kind, every animal after its kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, everything with wings.
Two of all flesh that has the breath of life in it entered the ark with Noah. 15Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life came into the ark to Noah.
Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered just as God had commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in. 16Those that entered were male and female, just as God commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.
The flood continued for 40 days on the earth; the waters increased and lifted up the ark so that it rose above the earth. 17The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.
The waters surged and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. 18The waters completely overwhelmed the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.
Then the waters surged even higher on the earth, and all the high mountains under the whole sky were covered. 19The waters completely inundated the earth so that even all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.
The mountains were covered as the waters surged above them more than 20 feet.20The waters rose more than twenty feet above the mountains.
Every creature perished--those that crawl on the earth, birds, livestock, wildlife, and those that swarm on the earth, as well as all mankind. 21And all living things that moved on the earth died, including the birds, domestic animals, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all humankind.
Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils--everything on dry land died. 22Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.
He wiped out every living thing that was on the surface of the ground, from mankind to livestock, to creatures that crawl, to the birds of the sky, and they were wiped off the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the ark.23So the LORD destroyed every living thing that was on the surface of the ground, including people, animals, creatures that creep along the ground, and birds of the sky. They were wiped off the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark survived.
And the waters surged on the earth 150 days. 24The waters prevailed over the earth for 150 days.
