Psalm 19
HCSB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNET Bible
For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands. 1For the music director; a psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky displays his handiwork.
Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. 2Day after day it speaks out; night after night it reveals his greatness.
There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard. 3There is no actual speech or word, nor is its voice literally heard.
Their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun. 4Yet its voice echoes throughout the earth; its words carry to the distant horizon. In the sky he has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a groom coming from the bridal chamber; it rejoices like an athlete running a course. 5Like a bridegroom it emerges from its chamber; like a strong man it enjoys running its course.
It rises from one end of the heavens and circles to their other end; nothing is hidden from its heat. 6It emerges from the distant horizon, and goes from one end of the sky to the other; nothing can escape its heat.
The instruction of the LORD is perfect, renewing one's life; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. 7The law of the LORD is perfect and preserves one's life. The rules set down by the LORD are reliable and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.
The precepts of the LORD are right, making the heart glad; the command of the LORD is radiant, making the eyes light up. 8The LORD's precepts are fair and make one joyful. The LORD's commands are pure and give insight for life.
The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the LORD are reliable and altogether righteous. 9The commands to fear the LORD are right and endure forever. The judgments given by the LORD are trustworthy and absolutely just.
They are more desirable than gold-- than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey, which comes from the honeycomb. 10They are of greater value than gold, than even a great amount of pure gold; they bring greater delight than honey, than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb.
In addition, Your servant is warned by them; there is great reward in keeping them. 11Yes, your servant finds moral guidance there; those who obey them receive a rich reward.
Who perceives his unintentional sins? Cleanse me from my hidden faults. 12Who can know all his errors? Please do not punish me for sins I am unaware of.
Moreover, keep Your servant from willful sins; do not let them rule over me. Then I will be innocent and cleansed from blatant rebellion. 13Moreover, keep me from committing flagrant sins; do not allow such sins to control me. Then I will be blameless, and innocent of blatant rebellion.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, LORD, my rock and my Redeemer. 14May my words and my thoughts be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my sheltering rock and my redeemer.
