The king rejoices in your strength, LORD. How greatly he rejoices in your deliverance.1For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. LORD, the king finds joy in Your strength. How greatly he rejoices in Your victory!
You have granted him the desire of his heart, and have not withheld what his lips requested. Interlude2You have given him his heart's desire and have not denied the request of his lips. Selah
You go before him with wonderful blessings, and put a crown of fine gold on his head.3For You meet him with rich blessings; You place a crown of pure gold on his head.
He asked life from you, and you gave it to him— a long life for ever and ever.4He asked You for life, and You gave it to him-- length of days forever and ever.
His glory is great because of your deliverance, you have given him honor and majesty.5His glory is great through Your victory; You confer majesty and splendor on him.
Indeed, you have given him eternal blessings; you will make him glad with the joy of your presence.6You give him blessings forever; You cheer him with joy in Your presence.
The king trusts in the LORD; because of the gracious love of the Most High, he will stand firm. 7For the king relies on the LORD; through the faithful love of the Most High he is not shaken.
Your hand will find all your enemies, your right hand will find those who hate you.8Your hand will capture all your enemies; your right hand will seize those who hate you.
When you appear, you will set them ablaze like a fire furnace. In his wrath, the LORD will consume them, and the fire will devour them.9You will make them burn like a fiery furnace when you appear; the LORD will engulf them in His wrath, and fire will devour them.
You will destroy their descendants from the earth, even their offspring from the ranks of mankind.10You will wipe their descendants from the earth and their offspring from the human race.
Though they plot evil against you and devise schemes, they will not succeed.11Though they intend to harm you and devise a wicked plan, they will not prevail.
Indeed, you will make them retreat, when you aim your bow at their faces.12Instead, you will put them to flight when you aim your bow at their faces.
Rise up, LORD, because you are strong; we will sing and praise your power.13Be exalted, LORD, in Your strength; we will sing and praise Your might.
