Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his gracious love is eternal.1Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good and his loyal love endures!
Let Israel now say, "His gracious love is eternal."2Let Israel say, "Yes, his loyal love endures!"
Let the house of Aaron now say, "His gracious love is eternal."3Let the family of Aaron say, "Yes, his loyal love endures!"
Let those who fear the LORD now say, "His gracious love is eternal."4Let the loyal followers of the LORD say, "Yes, his loyal love endures!"
I called on the LORD in my distress; the LORD answered me openly. 5In my distress I cried out to the LORD. The LORD answered me and put me in a wide open place.
The LORD is with me. I will not be afraid. What can people do to me?6The LORD is on my side, I am not afraid! What can people do to me?
With the LORD beside me as my helper, I will triumph over those who hate me.7The LORD is on my side as my helper. I look in triumph on those who hate me.
It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in people.8It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in people.
It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in princes.9It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in princes.
All the nations surrounded me; but in the name of the LORD I will defeat them.10All the nations surrounded me. Indeed, in the name of the LORD I pushed them away.
They surrounded me, they are around me; but in the name of the LORD I will defeat them.11They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. Indeed, in the name of the LORD I pushed them away.
They surrounded me like bees; but they will be extinguished like burning thorns. In the name of the LORD I will defeat them.12They surrounded me like bees. But they disappeared as quickly as a fire among thorns. Indeed, in the name of the LORD I pushed them away.
Indeed, you oppressed me so much that I nearly fell, but the LORD helped me.13"You aggressively attacked me and tried to knock me down, but the LORD helped me.
The LORD is my strength and protector, for he has become my deliverer. 14The LORD gives me strength and protects me; he has become my deliverer."
There's exultation for deliverance in the tents of the righteous: "The right hand of the LORD is victorious! 15They celebrate deliverance in the tents of the godly. The LORD's right hand conquers,
The right hand of the LORD is exalted! The right hand of the LORD is victorious!" 16the LORD's right hand gives victory, the LORD's right hand conquers.
I will not die, but I will live to recount the deeds of the LORD.17I will not die, but live, and I will proclaim what the LORD has done.
The LORD will discipline me severely, but he won't hand me over to die.18The LORD severely punished me, but he did not hand me over to death.
Open for me the righteous gates so I may enter through them to give thanks to the LORD.19Open for me the gates of the just king's temple! I will enter through them and give thanks to the LORD.
This is the LORD's gate— The righteous will enter through it.20This is the LORD's gate--the godly enter through it.
I will praise you because you have answered me and have become my deliverer.21I will give you thanks, for you answered me, and have become my deliverer.
The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.22The stone which the builders discarded has become the cornerstone.
This is from the LORD— it is awesome in our sight.23This is the LORD's work. We consider it amazing!
This is the day that the LORD has made; let's rejoice and be glad in it.24This is the day the LORD has brought about. We will be happy and rejoice in it.
Please LORD, deliver us! Please LORD, hurry and bring success now!25Please LORD, deliver! Please LORD, grant us success!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD! Let us bless you from the LORD's house.26May the one who comes in the name of the LORD be blessed! We will pronounce blessings on you in the LORD's temple.
The LORD is God—he will be our light! Bind the festival sacrifice with ropes to the horn at the altar.27The LORD is God and he has delivered us. Tie the offering with ropes to the horns of the altar!
You are my God, and I will praise you; my God, and I will exalt you.28You are my God and I will give you thanks! You are my God and I will praise you!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good and his gracious love is eternal.29Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good and his loyal love endures!
