Psalm 120
ISV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNET Bible
1I cried to the LORD in my distress, and he responded to me.1A song of ascents. In my distress I cried out to the LORD and he answered me.
2"LORD, deliver me from lips that lie and tongues that deceive."2I said, "O LORD, rescue me from those who lie with their lips and those who deceive with their tongue.
3What will be given to you, and what will be done to you, you treacherous tongue?3How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker?
4Like a sharp arrow from a warrior, along with fiery coals from juniper trees!4Here's how! With the sharp arrows of warriors, with arrowheads forged over the hot coals.
5How terrible for me, that I am an alien in Meshech, that I reside among the tents of Kedar!5How miserable I am! For I have lived temporarily in Meshech; I have resided among the tents of Kedar.
6I have resided too long with those who hate peace.6For too long I have had to reside with those who hate peace.
7I am in favor of peace; but when I speak, they are in favor of war.7I am committed to peace, but when I speak, they want to make war.
