To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!1For the choirmaster. According to Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of Hosts!
My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.2My soul longs, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.3Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she places her young near Your altars, O LORD of Hosts, my King and my God.
Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.4How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.5Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.6As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; even the autumn rain covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.7They go from strength to strength, until each appears before God in Zion.
O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.8O LORD God of Hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah
Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.9Take notice of our shield, O God, and look with favor on the face of Your anointed.
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.10For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.11For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.
O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.12O LORD of Hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!
