A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.1This is the declaration of the LORD to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool."
The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.2The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion. Rule over your surrounding enemies.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.3Your people will volunteer on your day of battle. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, the dew of your youth belongs to you.
The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.4The LORD has sworn an oath and will not take it back: "You are a priest forever according to the pattern of Melchizedek."
The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.5The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his anger.
He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.6He will judge the nations, heaping up corpses; he will crush leaders over the entire world.
He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.7He will drink from the brook by the road; therefore, he will lift up his head.
