To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;1May the LORD answer you in a day of trouble; may the name of Jacob's God protect you.
Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;2May he send you help from the sanctuary and sustain you from Zion.
Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.3May he remember all your offerings and accept your burnt offering. Selah
Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.4May he give you what your heart desires and fulfill your whole purpose.
We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.5Let us shout for joy at your victory and lift the banner in the name of our God. May the LORD fulfill all your requests.
Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.6Now I know that the LORD gives victory to his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with mighty victories from his right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.7Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses, but we take pride in the name of the LORD our God.
They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.8They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand firm.
Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.9LORD, give victory to the king! May he answer us on the day that we call.
