And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;12After the deportation to Babylon, Jechoniah fathered Salathiel, Salathiel fathered Zerubbabel,

And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.16Jacob fathered Joseph, the husband of Mary, who was the mother of Jesus, who is called the Messiah.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.17So all the generations from Abraham to David totaled fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon totaled fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah there were fourteen generations.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.18Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah happened in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, before they lived together she was discovered to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.19Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to disgrace her, decided to divorce her secretly.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.20After he had thought about it, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," he said, "don't be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.21She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he is the one who will save his people from their sins."
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,22Now all this happened to fulfill what was declared by the Lord through the prophet when he said,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.23"See, a virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel," which means, "God with us."
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:24When Joseph got up from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary as his wife.
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.25He did not have marital relations with her until she had given birth to a son; and he named him Jesus.
