Psalm 34
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.1I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise will be in my mouth continuously.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.2My soul will glorify the LORD; the humble will hear about it and rejoice.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.3Magnify the LORD with me! Let us lift up his name together!
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.4I sought the LORD and he answered me; he delivered me from all of my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.5Look to him and be radiant; and you will not be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.6This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard and delivered him from all of his distress.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.7The angel of the LORD surrounds those who fear him, and he delivers them.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.8Taste and see that the LORD is good! How blessed is the person who trusts in him!
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.9Fear the LORD, you holy ones of his; for those who fear him lack nothing.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.10Young lions lack and go hungry, but those who seek the LORD will never lack any good thing.
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.11Come, children, listen to me, and I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?12Who among you desires life, and wants long life in order to see good?
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.13Then keep your tongue from doing evil and your lips from spreading lies.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.14Avoid evil and do good! Seek peace and pursue it!
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.15The LORD looks on the righteous, and he listens to their cries.
The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.16The face of the LORD is set against those who do evil, and he will remove people's recollection of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.17The LORD hears those who cry out, and he delivers them from all their distress.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, and he delivers those whose spirit has been crushed.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.19A righteous person will have many troubles, but the LORD will deliver him from them all.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.20God protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.21Evil will kill the wicked; those who hate the righteous will be held guilty.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.22The LORD redeems the lives of his servants; and none of those who trust in him will be held guilty.
