Psalm 101
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
1A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.1I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs.
2I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.2I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.
3I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.3I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.
4A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.4I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.
5Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.5I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.
6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.6I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.
7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.7I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.
8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.8My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip.
