| 1Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. | 1Praise the LORD! I will thank the LORD with all my heart as I meet with his godly people. |
| 2The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. | 2How amazing are the deeds of the LORD! All who delight in him should ponder them. |
| 3His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. | 3Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails. |
| 4He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. | 4He causes us to remember his wonderful works. How gracious and merciful is our LORD! |
| 5He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. | 5He gives food to those who fear him; he always remembers his covenant. |
| 6He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. | 6He has shown his great power to his people by giving them the lands of other nations. |
| 7The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. | 7All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are trustworthy. |
| 8They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. | 8They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity. |
| 9He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. | 9He has paid a full ransom for his people. He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has! |
| 10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. | 10Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever! |
