New American Standard Bible 1995Christian Standard Bible
A Psalm of Asaph. God takes His stand in His own congregation; He judges in the midst of the rulers.1God stands in the divine assembly; he pronounces judgment among the gods:
How long will you judge unjustly And show partiality to the wicked? Selah.2"How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
Vindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.3Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.4Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the power of the wicked."
They do not know nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken.5They do not know or understand; they wander in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
I said, "You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High.6I said, "You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.
"Nevertheless you will die like men And fall like any one of the princes."7However, you will die like humans and fall like any other ruler."
Arise, O God, judge the earth! For it is You who possesses all the nations.8Rise up, God, judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.
