| 3For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, | 3What the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. | 4so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. | 4in order that the law's requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. |
| 5For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. | 5For those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on the things of the Spirit. |
| 6For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, | 6Now the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace. |
| 7because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, | 7The mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit to God's law. Indeed, it is unable to do so. |

| 9However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. | 9You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him. |
| 10If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. | 10Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. |
| 11But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. | 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you. |

| 24For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? | 24Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? |
| 25But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. | 25Now if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience. |
| 26In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; | 26In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings. |
| 27and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. | 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. |
| 28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. | 28We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. |

| 35Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? | 35Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? |
| 36Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED." | 36As it is written: Because of you we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered. |
| 37But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. | 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. |
| 38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, | 38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, |
