| 1For the choir director; for flute accompaniment. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my groaning. | 1For the choir director: with the flutes. A Davidic psalm. Listen to my words, LORD; consider my sighing. |
| 2Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to You I pray. | 2Pay attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for I pray to You. |
| 3In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch. | 3At daybreak, LORD, You hear my voice; at daybreak I plead my case to You and watch expectantly. |
| 4For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with You. | 4For You are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil cannot dwell with You. |
| 5The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity. | 5The boastful cannot stand in Your presence; You hate all evildoers. |
| 6You destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit. | 6You destroy those who tell lies; the LORD abhors a man of bloodshed and treachery. |
| 7But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You. | 7But I enter Your house by the abundance of Your faithful love; I bow down toward Your holy temple in reverential awe of You. |

| 9There is nothing reliable in what they say; Their inward part is destruction itself. Their throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue. | 9For there is nothing reliable in what they say; destruction is within them; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongues. |
| 10Hold them guilty, O God; By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, For they are rebellious against You. | 10Punish them, God; let them fall by their own schemes. Drive them out because of their many crimes, for they rebel against You. |
| 11But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You. | 11But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them shout for joy forever. May You shelter them, and may those who love Your name boast about You. |
| 12For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield. | 12For You, LORD, bless the righteous one; You surround him with favor like a shield. |
