Psalm 83
NASB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995International Standard Version
A Song, a Psalm of Asaph. O God, do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.1God, do not rest! Don't be silent! Don't stay inactive, God!
For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves.2See! Your enemies rage; those who hate you issue threats.
They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones.3They plot against your people and conspire against your cherished ones.
They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more."4They say, "Let us go and erase them as a nation so the name of Israel will not be remembered anymore."
For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant:5Indeed, they shrewdly planned together, forming an alliance against you—
The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites;6the tents of Edom, the Ishmaelites, Moab, the Hagrites,
Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;7Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia, and the inhabitants of Tyre.
Assyria also has joined with them; They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.8Even Assyria joined them to strengthen the descendants of Lot. Interlude
Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera and Jabin at the torrent of Kishon,9Deal with them as you did to Midian, Sisera, and Jabin at the Kishon Brook.
Who were destroyed at En-dor, Who became as dung for the ground.10They were destroyed at En-dor and became as dung on the ground.
Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb And all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,11Punish their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
Who said, "Let us possess for ourselves The pastures of God."12who said, "Let us possess the pastures of God."
O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like chaff before the wind.13God, set them up like dried thistles, like straw before the wind.
Like fire that burns the forest And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire,14Like a fire burning a forest, and a flame setting mountains ablaze.
So pursue them with Your tempest And terrify them with Your storm.15Pursue them with your storm and terrify them with your whirlwind.
Fill their faces with dishonor, That they may seek Your name, O LORD.16Fill their faces with shame until they seek your name, God.
Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever, And let them be humiliated and perish,17Let them be humiliated and terrified permanently until they die in shame.
That they may know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.18Then they will know that you alone— whose name is LORD— are the Most High over all the earth.
