| 2For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves. | 2See! Your enemies rage; those who hate you issue threats. |
| 3They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones. | 3They plot against your people and conspire against your cherished ones. |
| 4They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more." | 4They say, "Let us go and erase them as a nation so the name of Israel will not be remembered anymore." |
| 5For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant: | 5Indeed, they shrewdly planned together, forming an alliance against you— |
| 6The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites; | 6the tents of Edom, the Ishmaelites, Moab, the Hagrites, |
| 7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; | 7Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia, and the inhabitants of Tyre. |

| 17Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever, And let them be humiliated and perish, | 17Let them be humiliated and terrified permanently until they die in shame. |
