New American Standard Bible 1995International Standard Version
A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song. His foundation is in the holy mountains.1God's foundation is in the holy mountains.
The LORD loves the gates of Zion More than all the other dwelling places of Jacob.2The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than the dwellings of Jacob.
Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah.3Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. Interlude
"I shall mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me; Behold, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia: 'This one was born there.'"4I will mention Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me— including Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia — "This one was born there," they say.
But of Zion it shall be said, "This one and that one were born in her"; And the Most High Himself will establish her.5Indeed, about Zion it will be said: "More than one person was born in it," and "The Most High himself did it."
The LORD will count when He registers the peoples, "This one was born there." Selah.6The LORD will record, as he registers the peoples, "This one was born there." Interlude
Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes shall say, "All my springs of joy are in you."7Then singers, as they play their instruments, will declare, "All my roots are in you."
