New American Standard Bible 1995King James Bible
For the choir director; according to the Shoshannim. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. A Song of Love. My heart overflows with a good theme; I address my verses to the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.1To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves. My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever.2Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One, In Your splendor and Your majesty!3Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
And in Your majesty ride on victoriously, For the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; Let Your right hand teach You awesome things.4And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
Your arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under You; Your arrows are in the heart of the King's enemies.5Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.6Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows.7Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
All Your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made You glad.8All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
Kings' daughters are among Your noble ladies; At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.9Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father's house;10Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him.11So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; The rich among the people will seek your favor.12And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
The King's daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven with gold.13The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
She will be led to the King in embroidered work; The virgins, her companions who follow her, Will be brought to You.14She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
They will be led forth with gladness and rejoicing; They will enter into the King's palace.15With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.
In place of your fathers will be your sons; You shall make them princes in all the earth.16Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.
I will cause Your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will give You thanks forever and ever.17I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
