1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea;1Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea,
2that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.2so that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and provide her with whatever help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many, including me.
3Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,3Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,
4who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles;4who risked their own necks for my life. Not only I, but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.
5also greet the church that is in their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first convert to Christ from Asia.5Also greet the church in their house. Greet my dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia.

17Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.17Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who create dissensions and obstacles contrary to the teaching that you learned. Avoid them!
18For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.18For these are the kind who do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By their smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of the naive.
19For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.19Your obedience is known to all and thus I rejoice over you. But I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.
20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.20The God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

24The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.24
25Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past,25Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that had been kept secret for long ages,
26but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;26but now is disclosed, and through the prophetic scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith--
