Romans 15
NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves.1But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves.
Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.2Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up.
For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "THE REPROACHES OF THOSE WHO REPROACHED YOU FELL ON ME."3For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written, "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me."
For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.4For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.
Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,5Now may the God of endurance and comfort give you unity with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus,
so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.6so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.7Receive one another, then, just as Christ also received you, to God's glory.
For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers,8For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God's truth to confirm the promises made to the fathers,
and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "THEREFORE I WILL GIVE PRAISE TO YOU AMONG THE GENTILES, AND I WILL SING TO YOUR NAME."9and thus the Gentiles glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, "Because of this I will confess you among the Gentiles, and I will sing praises to your name."
Again he says, "REJOICE, O GENTILES, WITH HIS PEOPLE."10And again it says: "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people."
And again, "PRAISE THE LORD ALL YOU GENTILES, AND LET ALL THE PEOPLES PRAISE HIM."11And again, "Praise the Lord all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him."
Again Isaiah says, "THERE SHALL COME THE ROOT OF JESSE, AND HE WHO ARISES TO RULE OVER THE GENTILES, IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILES HOPE."12And again Isaiah says, "The root of Jesse will come, and the one who rises to rule over the Gentiles, in him will the Gentiles hope."
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.13Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
And concerning you, my brethren, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another.14But I myself am fully convinced about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct one another.
But I have written very boldly to you on some points so as to remind you again, because of the grace that was given me from God,15But I have written more boldly to you on some points so as to remind you, because of the grace given to me by God
to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.16to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. I serve the gospel of God like a priest, so that the Gentiles may become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.17So I boast in Christ Jesus about the things that pertain to God.
For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed,18For I will not dare to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in order to bring about the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,
in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.19in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem even as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
And thus I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, so that I would not build on another man's foundation;20And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person's foundation,
but as it is written, "THEY WHO HAD NO NEWS OF HIM SHALL SEE, AND THEY WHO HAVE NOT HEARD SHALL UNDERSTAND."21but as it is written: "Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand."
For this reason I have often been prevented from coming to you;22This is the reason I was often hindered from coming to you.
but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I have had for many years a longing to come to you23But now there is nothing more to keep me in these regions, and I have for many years desired to come to you
whenever I go to Spain-- for I hope to see you in passing, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while--24when I go to Spain. For I hope to visit you when I pass through and that you will help me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while.
but now, I am going to Jerusalem serving the saints.25But now I go to Jerusalem to minister to the saints.
For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.26For Macedonia and Achaia are pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
Yes, they were pleased to do so, and they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things.27For they were pleased to do this, and indeed they are indebted to the Jerusalem saints. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are obligated also to minister to them in material things.
Therefore, when I have finished this, and have put my seal on this fruit of theirs, I will go on by way of you to Spain.28Therefore after I have completed this and have safely delivered this bounty to them, I will set out for Spain by way of you,
I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.29and I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of Christ's blessing.
Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,30Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, through our Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, to join fervently with me in prayer to God on my behalf.
that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints;31Pray that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea and that my ministry in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,
so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and find refreshing rest in your company.32so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.33Now may the God of peace be with all of you. Amen.
