NASB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New Living Translation
When Israel went forth from Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,1When the Israelites escaped from Egypt— when the family of Jacob left that foreign land—
Judah became His sanctuary, Israel, His dominion.2the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom.
The sea looked and fled; The Jordan turned back.3The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away.
The mountains skipped like rams, The hills, like lambs.4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!
What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back?5What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away?
O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?6Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?
Tremble, O earth, before the Lord, Before the God of Jacob,7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of water.8He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.
