Psalm 63
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
1A psalm of David, written when he was in the Judean wilderness. O God, you are my God! I long for you! My soul thirsts for you, my flesh yearns for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. 1God, you are my God! I will fervently seek you. My soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you in a dry, weary, and parched land.
2Yes, in the sanctuary I have seen you, and witnessed your power and splendor. 2So I have looked for you in the sanctuary, to behold your power and glory.
3Because experiencing your loyal love is better than life itself, my lips will praise you. 3Because your gracious love is better than life itself, my lips will praise you.
4For this reason I will praise you while I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. 4So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in your name.
5As if with choice meat you satisfy my soul. My mouth joyfully praises you, 5Just as I am satisfied with the choicest of foods, so my lips will praise you joyfully.
6whenever I remember you on my bed, and think about you during the nighttime hours. 6When I think of you in bed, I will meditate on you in the night watches.
7For you are my deliverer; under your wings I rejoice. 7For you have been my strength, and in the shadow of your wings I will shout for joy.
8My soul pursues you; your right hand upholds me. 8My soul clings to you, even as your right hand supports me.
9Enemies seek to destroy my life, but they will descend into the depths of the earth. 9But as for those who seek to destroy me, they will go down to the depths of the earth;
10Each one will be handed over to the sword; their corpses will be eaten by jackals. 10May they be given over to the power of the sword; may they become carrion for jackals.
11But the king will rejoice in God; everyone who takes oaths in his name will boast, for the mouths of those who speak lies will be shut up. 11But as for the king, he will rejoice in God. Indeed, everyone who swears by God will exult, because the mouths of liars will be silenced.
