Psalm 63
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
1A psalm of David, written when he was in the Judean wilderness. O God, you are my God! I long for you! My soul thirsts for you, my flesh yearns for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. 1A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah. You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
2Yes, in the sanctuary I have seen you, and witnessed your power and splendor. 2I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
3Because experiencing your loyal love is better than life itself, my lips will praise you. 3Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
4For this reason I will praise you while I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. 4I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5As if with choice meat you satisfy my soul. My mouth joyfully praises you, 5I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
6whenever I remember you on my bed, and think about you during the nighttime hours. 6On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.
7For you are my deliverer; under your wings I rejoice. 7Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8My soul pursues you; your right hand upholds me. 8I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.
9Enemies seek to destroy my life, but they will descend into the depths of the earth. 9Those who want to kill me will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth.
10Each one will be handed over to the sword; their corpses will be eaten by jackals. 10They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals.
11But the king will rejoice in God; everyone who takes oaths in his name will boast, for the mouths of those who speak lies will be shut up. 11But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.
