Psalm 64
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
1For the music director; a psalm of David. Listen to me, O God, as I offer my lament! Protect my life from the enemy's terrifying attacks. 1For the director of music. A psalm of David. Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.
2Hide me from the plots of evil men, from the crowd of evildoers. 2Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from the plots of evildoers.
3They sharpen their tongues like a sword; they aim their arrow, a slanderous charge, 3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.
4in order to shoot down the innocent in secluded places. They shoot at him suddenly and are unafraid of retaliation. 4They shoot from ambush at the innocent; they shoot suddenly, without fear.
5They encourage one another to carry out their evil deed. They plan how to hide snares, and boast, "Who will see them?" 5They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, "Who will see it?"
6They devise unjust schemes; they disguise a well-conceived plot. Man's inner thoughts cannot be discovered. 6They plot injustice and say, "We have devised a perfect plan!" Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.
7But God will shoot at them; suddenly they will be wounded by an arrow. 7But God will shoot them with his arrows; they will suddenly be struck down.
8Their slander will bring about their demise. All who see them will shudder, 8He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9and all people will fear. They will proclaim what God has done, and reflect on his deeds. 9All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.
10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and take shelter in him. All the morally upright will boast. 10The righteous will rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!
