Psalm 64
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
1For the music director; a psalm of David. Listen to me, O God, as I offer my lament! Protect my life from the enemy's terrifying attacks. 1O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
2Hide me from the plots of evil men, from the crowd of evildoers. 2Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers.
3They sharpen their tongues like a sword; they aim their arrow, a slanderous charge, 3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.
4in order to shoot down the innocent in secluded places. They shoot at him suddenly and are unafraid of retaliation. 4They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly.
5They encourage one another to carry out their evil deed. They plan how to hide snares, and boast, "Who will see them?" 5They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps in secret. “Who will ever notice?” they ask.
6They devise unjust schemes; they disguise a well-conceived plot. Man's inner thoughts cannot be discovered. 6As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.
7But God will shoot at them; suddenly they will be wounded by an arrow. 7But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.
8Their slander will bring about their demise. All who see them will shudder, 8Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9and all people will fear. They will proclaim what God has done, and reflect on his deeds. 9Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.
10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and take shelter in him. All the morally upright will boast. 10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.
