Corinthians 13
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
NET BibleNew International Version
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but I do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.1If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give away everything I own, and if I give over my body in order to boast, but do not have love, I receive no benefit. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up.4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth.6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never ends. But if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be set aside.8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part,9For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when what is perfect comes, the partial will be set aside.10but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I became an adult, I set aside childish ways.11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now we see in a mirror indirectly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. 13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
