Psalm 36
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
For the music director; written by the LORD's servant, David; an oracle. An evil man is rebellious to the core. He does not fear God, 1For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
for he is too proud to recognize and give up his sin. 2In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.
The words he speaks are sinful and deceitful; he does not care about doing what is wise and right. 3The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.
He plans ways to sin while he lies in bed; he is committed to a sinful lifestyle; he does not reject what is evil. 4Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.
O LORD, your loyal love reaches to the sky; your faithfulness to the clouds. 5Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Your justice is like the highest mountains, your fairness like the deepest sea; you preserve mankind and the animal kingdom. 6Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.
How precious is your loyal love, O God! The human race finds shelter under your wings. 7How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They are filled with food from your house, and you allow them to drink from the river of your delicacies. 8They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.
For you are the one who gives and sustains life. 9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Extend your loyal love to your faithful followers, and vindicate the morally upright! 10Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Do not let arrogant men overtake me, or let evil men make me homeless! 11May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
I can see the evildoers! They have fallen! They have been knocked down and are unable to get up! 12See how the evildoers lie fallen-- thrown down, not able to rise!
