Song of Solomon 2
NIV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionEnglish Standard Version
I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.1I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.2As a lily among brambles, so is my love among the young women.
Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.3As an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. With great delight I sat in his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.4He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love.5Sustain me with raisins; refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love.
His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.6His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me!
Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.7I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.
Listen! My beloved! Look! Here he comes, leaping across the mountains, bounding over the hills.8The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes, leaping over the mountains, bounding over the hills.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Look! There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, peering through the lattice.9My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, there he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, looking through the lattice.
My beloved spoke and said to me, "Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.10My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away,
See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.11for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.12The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me."13The fig tree ripens its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.
My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.14O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the crannies of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.
Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.15Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.”
My beloved is mine and I am his; he browses among the lilies.16My beloved is mine, and I am his; he grazes among the lilies.
Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or like a young stag on the rugged hills.17Until the day breathes and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, be like a gazelle or a young stag on cleft mountains.
