Then the LORD said to Moses,1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
"See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,2See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills--3And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,4To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.5And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you:6And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;
the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent--7The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,
the table and its articles, the pure gold lampstand and all its accessories, the altar of incense,8And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,
the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin with its stand--9And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,
and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests,10And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,
and the anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them just as I commanded you."11And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.
Then the LORD said to Moses,12And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
"Say to the Israelites, 'You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.13Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
"'Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people.14Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.15Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant.16Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.'"17It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.18And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
