The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.1And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,2Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.3Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."4For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.5And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.
Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth.6And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.7And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground,8Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah.9There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.10And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month--on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.11In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.12And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.13In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.14They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.
Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.15And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.16And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.17And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.18And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered.19And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits. 20Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
Every living thing that moved on land perished--birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind.21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.23And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.24And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
