Psalm 7
NKJV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionChristian Standard Bible
A Meditation of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite. O LORD my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me,1LORD my God, I seek refuge in you; save me from all my pursuers and rescue me
Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.2or they will tear me like a lion, ripping me apart with no one to rescue me.
O LORD my God, if I have done this: If there is iniquity in my hands,3LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is injustice on my hands,
If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, Or have plundered my enemy without cause,4if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,
Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; Yes, let him trample my life to the earth, And lay my honor in the dust. Selah5may an enemy pursue and overtake me; may he trample me to the ground and leave my honor in the dust. Selah
Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!6Rise up, LORD, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my adversaries; awake for me; you have ordained a judgment.
So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You; For their sakes, therefore, return on high.7Let the assembly of peoples gather around you; take your seat on high over it.
The LORD shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me.8The LORD judges the peoples; vindicate me, LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity.
Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.9Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous. The one who examines the thoughts and emotions is a righteous God.
My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart.10My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.
God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.11God is a righteous judge and a God who shows his wrath every day.
If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready.12If anyone does not repent, he will sharpen his sword; he has strung his bow and made it ready.
He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.13He has prepared his deadly weapons; he tips his arrows with fire.
Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.14See, the wicked one is pregnant with evil, conceives trouble, and gives birth to deceit.
He made a pit and dug it out, And has fallen into the ditch which he made.15He dug a pit and hollowed it out but fell into the hole he had made.
His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.16His trouble comes back on his own head; his own violence comes down on top of his head.
I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.17I will thank the LORD for his righteousness; I will sing about the name of the LORD Most High.
