This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.1This is the historical record of Adam's generations. When God created mankind, he made them in his own likeness.
He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.2Creating them male and female, he blessed them and called them humans when he created them.
And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.3After Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son just like him, that is, according to his own likeness, and named him Seth.
After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.4Adam lived another 800 years, fathering other sons and daughters after he had fathered Seth.
So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.5Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then died.
Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.6When Seth had lived 105 years, he fathered Enosh.
After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters.7After he fathered Enosh, Seth lived 807 years, fathering other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.8Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then died.
Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.9When Enosh had lived 90 years, he fathered Kenan.
After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters.10After he fathered Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years, fathering other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.11Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then died.
Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.12When Kenan had lived 70 years, he fathered Mahalalel.
After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters.13After he fathered Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years, fathering other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.14Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then died.
Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.15When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared.
After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters.16After he fathered Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years, fathering other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.17Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then died.
Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.18When Jared had lived 162 years, he fathered Enoch.
After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters.19After he fathered Enoch, Jared lived 800 years, fathering other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.20Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then died.
Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah.21When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah.
After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.22After he fathered Methuselah, Enoch communed with God for 300 years and fathered other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.23Enoch lived a total of 365 years,
And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.24communing with God—and then he was there no longer, because God had taken him.
Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.25When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech.
After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters.26After he fathered Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years, fathering other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.27Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then died.
Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son.28When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son,
And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.”29whom he named Noah, because he said, "May this one comfort us from our work, from pain that is caused by our manual labor, and from the ground that the LORD has cursed."
After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters.30After he fathered Noah, Lamech lived 595 years, fathering other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.31Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then died.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.32After Noah had lived 500 years, he fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
