Psalm 5
NKJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
To the Chief Musician. With flutes. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation.1LORD, listen to my words, consider my groaning.
Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.2Pay attention to my cry for help, my king and my God, for unto you will I pray.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.3LORD, in the morning you will hear my voice; in the morning I will pray to you, and I will watch for your answer.
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.4Indeed, you aren't a God who delights in wickedness; evil will never dwell with you.
The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.5Boastful ones will not stand before you; you hate all those who practice wickedness.
You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.6You will destroy those who speak lies. The LORD abhors the person of bloodshed and deceit.
But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.7But I, because of the abundance of your gracious love, may come into your house. In awe of you, I will worship in your holy Temple.
Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face.8LORD, lead me in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your path straight before me.
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part is destruction; Their throat is an open tomb; They flatter with their tongue.9But as for the wicked, they do not speak truth at all. Inside them there is only wickedness. Their throat is an open grave, on their tongue is deceitful flattery.
Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels; Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, For they have rebelled against You.10Declare them guilty, God! Let them fall by their own schemes. Drive them away because of their many transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.11Let all those who take refuge in you rejoice! Let them shout for joy forever, and may you protect them. Let those who love your name exult in you.
For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.12Indeed, you will bless the righteous one, LORD, like a large shield, you will surround him with favor.
