Psalm 5
NKJV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionChristian Standard Bible
To the Chief Musician. With flutes. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation.1Listen to my words, LORD; consider my sighing.
Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.2Pay attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for I pray to you.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.3In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you and watch expectantly.
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.4For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil cannot dwell with you.
The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.5The boastful cannot stand in your sight; you hate all evildoers.
You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.6You destroy those who tell lies; the LORD abhors violent and treacherous people.
But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.7But I enter your house by the abundance of your faithful love; I bow down toward your holy temple in reverential awe of you.
Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face.8LORD, lead me in your righteousness because of my adversaries; make your way straight before me.
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part is destruction; Their throat is an open tomb; They flatter with their tongue.9For there is nothing reliable in what they say; destruction is within them; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongues.
Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels; Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, For they have rebelled against You.10Punish them, God; let them fall by their own schemes. Drive them out because of their many crimes, for they rebel against you.
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.11But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them shout for joy forever. May you shelter them, and may those who love your name boast about you.
For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.12For you, LORD, bless the righteous one; you surround him with favor like a shield.
