New King James VersionNET Bible
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.1For the music director; written by the LORD's servant, David; an oracle. An evil man is rebellious to the core. He does not fear God,
For he flatters himself in his own eyes, When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates.2for he is too proud to recognize and give up his sin.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.3The words he speaks are sinful and deceitful; he does not care about doing what is wise and right.
He devises wickedness on his bed; He sets himself in a way that is not good; He does not abhor evil.4He plans ways to sin while he lies in bed; he is committed to a sinful lifestyle; he does not reject what is evil.
Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.5O LORD, your loyal love reaches to the sky; your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast.6Your justice is like the highest mountains, your fairness like the deepest sea; you preserve mankind and the animal kingdom.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.7How precious is your loyal love, O God! The human race finds shelter under your wings.
They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.8They are filled with food from your house, and you allow them to drink from the river of your delicacies.
For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.9For you are the one who gives and sustains life.
Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.10Extend your loyal love to your faithful followers, and vindicate the morally upright!
Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.11Do not let arrogant men overtake me, or let evil men make me homeless!
There the workers of iniquity have fallen; They have been cast down and are not able to rise.12I can see the evildoers! They have fallen! They have been knocked down and are unable to get up!
