Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.1Then a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and with the moon under her feet, and on her head was a crown of twelve stars.
Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.2She was pregnant and was screaming in labor pains, struggling to give birth.
And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.3Then another sign appeared in heaven: a huge red dragon that had seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadem crowns.
His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.4Now the dragon's tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and hurled them to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born.
She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.5So the woman gave birth to a son, a male child, who is going to rule over all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was suddenly caught up to God and to his throne,
Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.6and she fled into the wilderness where a place had been prepared for her by God, so she could be taken care of for 1,260 days.
And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,7Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.
but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.8But the dragon was not strong enough to prevail, so there was no longer any place left in heaven for him and his angels.
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.9So that huge dragon--the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world--was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, "The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the ruling authority of his Christ, have now come, because the accuser of our brothers and sisters, the one who accuses them day and night before our God, has been thrown down.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.11But they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.
Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”12Therefore you heavens rejoice, and all who reside in them! But woe to the earth and the sea because the devil has come down to you! He is filled with terrible anger, for he knows that he only has a little time!"
Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.13Now when the dragon realized that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.14But the woman was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, to the place God prepared for her, where she is taken care of--away from the presence of the serpent--for a time, times, and half a time.
So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.15Then the serpent spouted water like a river out of his mouth after the woman in an attempt to sweep her away by a flood,
But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.16but the earth came to her rescue; the ground opened up and swallowed the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth.
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.17So the dragon became enraged at the woman and went away to make war on the rest of her children, those who keep God's commandments and hold to the testimony about Jesus. And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore.
